Respect for intellectual property

Lean Mass Calculator (operated by HealthTools Media Ltd.) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and content contributors to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond to clear notices of claimed copyright infringement.

The formulas implemented on this site (Boer, James, Hume, etc.) are mathematical equations in the public domain and are not subject to copyright. However, written content, design, images, and other original creative works on this site are protected by copyright.

Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe that content on this site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice containing the following information to our designated DMCA agent:

1. Identification: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, including the original URL or other location where the work can be found.

2. Infringing content: A description of the material you claim is infringing, and the URL or other specific location on our site where the material is located.

3. Contact information: Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

4. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

5. Accuracy statement: A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

6. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

We will respond to valid DMCA notices within 5 business days. Upon receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content pending investigation.

Counter-notice procedure

If you believe that content removed (or disabled) in response to a DMCA notice is not infringing, or that you have the right to publish it, you may submit a counter-notice to our DMCA agent containing the following information:

1. Identification: Description of the material removed or disabled, and its location on the site before removal.

2. Statement under penalty of perjury: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.

3. Consent to jurisdiction: A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, for non-US users, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the claimant.

4. Your details: Your name, address, and telephone number.

5. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the content within 10–14 business days unless we receive notice that the original complainant has filed an action seeking a court order.

Repeat infringers

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of repeat infringers. We may also limit access to the site at our discretion.

Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be held liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees).
