Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

This policy explains how Lean Mass Calculator (operated by HealthTools Media Ltd.) handles information when you use the site. We are committed to collecting only what is necessary and never selling your data.

Overview

Lean Mass Calculator is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We keep data collection to the minimum necessary to operate and improve the site.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@leanmasscalculator.com or through our contact page.

Information we collect

Calculator inputs: Lean Mass Calculator runs all body composition calculations entirely in your browser. The values you enter (weight, height, body fat percentage, etc.) are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Usage data: We collect anonymous, aggregated analytics data including pages visited, time on page, and general geographic region (country-level only). This data cannot be used to identify you individually and is used solely to understand how visitors use the site and which content is most helpful.

Technical data: When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically logs your IP address, browser type, and referring URL for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

Contact form data: If you contact us via our contact page or email, we retain your message and email address to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without explicit consent.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. GA4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*) that persist for up to 2 years. These cookies store a random identifier that distinguishes unique visits — they do not store personally identifiable information.

IP anonymisation is enabled for all GA4 data. We have also enabled data retention set to 2 months and do not use GA4 signals or demographic data features.

We use a single, essential session cookie to maintain site functionality (e.g. remembering your selected formula or unit preference within a session). This cookie expires when you close your browser and contains no personal data.

We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or third-party behavioural advertising cookies.

Advertising

This site participates in the Google AdSense programme. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings page (g.co/adsettings) or by using the NAI opt-out tool at optout.networkadvertising.org.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Ads displayed on this site may be personalised based on your activity across other Google partner sites if you have not opted out.

We comply with Google's publisher policies on user consent where required by local law, including GDPR and CCPA.

How we use your information

Analytics data is used to understand which tools and content are most useful, identify technical issues, and improve the site. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share aggregated, anonymised statistical data (for example, 'X% of visitors use metric units') publicly or with partners, but this data cannot identify any individual.

We will disclose data if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

Your choices & rights

You can control or delete cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using the calculators (which run without cookies), but may affect analytics functionality.

EU/EEA residents have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Contact us at hello@leanmasscalculator.com to exercise these rights.

California residents have rights under CCPA including the right to know what data we collect and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Data retention

Server logs: 30 days. After this period, logs are automatically purged.

Analytics data: 2 months (as configured in Google Analytics). Aggregated reports may be retained longer.

Contact enquiries: We retain email correspondence for up to 12 months, then delete it unless there is an ongoing matter.

Calculator inputs: Never stored — processing happens in your browser only.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies: Google Analytics 4 (analytics), Google AdSense (advertising). We recommend reviewing each provider's privacy policy.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or other social media tracking pixels.

Children's privacy

Lean Mass Calculator is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately at hello@leanmasscalculator.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we update the 'Last updated' date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
